# Free Chrome extension that shows if your email authentication is correct

I wanted to share a free Chrome extension I recently built that helps you quickly check the authentication status of any email you open in Gmail.

It highlights SPF, DKIM, and DMARC results in a clear, easy-to-read way, so you can instantly assess whether a message is properly authenticated. All this happens locally in your browser, with no data sent anywhere.

Another feature is that it identifies the sending platform behind the email, which can also be useful to know.

It’s called Email Detective (by EmailTooltester) and it’s free on the [Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/email-detective/jmflpchhakbogamlbfmlkglnpgfbhidl). I’d really appreciate feedback!

I only see the second extension Email Detective by EmailTooltester).

The extension’s name is: Email Detective for Gmail: Identify ESPs & Check Authentication
