Hello! 👋
I’m dipping my toes into Brevo, and would appreciate some advice please!

Could someone kindly advise on what is the easiest way / best practice to send Transactional emails to a Segment, via the API?

I believe need to send emails as Transactional to benefit from personalisation via parameters. (These emails will be marketing in essence.)

The most basic Segment I’d like to send to is a List, where the Contacts in it are Subscribed.

From what I can work out, this isn’t possible, and that the only method is to,

1. Create a Template (with parameter placeholders)
2. Get the Contacts in the List
3. Pick out Contacts that are Subscribed
4. Send with smtp/email, and add the Contacts from step 3) to « to » field

Does this sound right, or is there a more convenient way?

Many thanks!

Hi @CPGF , thanks for posting on this community.

I would advise to do the following:

- create a list on Brevo
- fetch the contacts inside this list: [Get contacts in a list](https://developers.brevo.com/reference/getcontactsfromlist)
- batch send transactional emails: [Batch send customised transactional emails](https://developers.brevo.com/docs/batch-send-transactional-emails) : add all the emails inside the « to » array

What do you think?

Heya, thanks for replying

Yes this is the conclusion I came to. For each contact, pick out the SUBSCRIBED attribute. Seems totally fine this way, so we’re all good 👍
