Hi Mavilor,
To set up an automation for emails that haven’t been opened in Brevo, follow these steps:
Let me know how it goes! If it’s still not working, I can help walk you through the settings again.
Hi Esther, thank you for your help. I am using the beta workflow editor, did you have that one also in mind when you sent me these instructions ?
Tks
Eric
Hi Eric, thanks for reaching out! The steps I provided were based on the regular workflow editor, but the same general process should apply to the beta version too. That said, the beta editor might have some differences in layout or features.
In the beta version, you should still be able to:
If you find the interface a bit different or run into any specific issues, let me know
Thanks for the information. But I think Brevo does not have any trigger for ‹Email not opened›.not in Classic or New Editor. I tried looking for it, but I did not find any trigger for this. I only see ‹Email opened›. Can you say where I should find this? Or any workaround?
Hello,
I have the same issue (as Tecnomaxx and Mavilor), I cannot find ‹ Email not opened › anywhere (in the new or classic editor for automations) I have searched everywhere.
This would be such a useful automation to have (something not happening, such as, a user not clicking or not opening).
Any help is much appreciated!
I also cannot find this option. Any help is much appreciated!
Hi @eliotwebb , so if I get it well, you don’t have access to the same options as the ones I’ve put in the screenshot, is that correct?
I found the « Add filter » option on this page: Brevo
Hey @ahudavert thanks for the message.
So I can see the filter on the contacts page, but not on the automations page.
I think it’s the same for the others that have comments, we are looking to create an automation using ‹ Email Not Opened › but the only option is ‹ Email Opened ›
Many thanks, Eliot
Ok I get it better, thanks.
Actually, « Email opened » is a trigger, meaning that when an email is opened, we know it, it generates an event, and we are able to start a workflow based on that.
« Email not opened » does not generate an event, because actually… nothing happens that’s why you can see it in the automation and not as a trigger of the automations. Still, you can do it differently:
Does this reply your question?
Hi Ahudavert,
Thank you for the clarification regarding the « Email opened » trigger event and why « Email not opened » doesn’t generate an event. I now understand that because « Email opened » creates an event, it allows for automation triggers, whereas « Email not opened » doesn’t create an event and therefore cannot be used in the same way.
However, I’ve encountered a challenge with this approach when trying to set up follow-up workflows:
For example, if I send out 30 emails on Day 1 and another 30 emails on Day 2, and I want to follow up with the people who didn’t open the emails on Day 1, the process becomes quite manual. Here’s the issue:
This means that follow-up emails are not fully automated because each batch (Day 1 and Day 2) requires me to create new segments and triggers manually. Additionally, every day, I would have to manage and activate follow-ups for multiple days (e.g., sending the second follow-up for Day 1 and the first follow-up for Day 2 on the same day).
The result is that I can’t set up an ongoing, automated follow-up sequence without manually intervening every time.
Is there a way to streamline this process so that the follow-ups can be fully automated, without needing to create new segments and workflows for each batch of emails? Any suggestions you have on automating this flow would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
please any reply pleasssssssseeeeeeeeeee
Hi @kartik123 , that’s perfectly clear, thanks for the details.
What about this idea: you create a segment of all contacts who received emails (emails to be configured) in the last 24h but did not open them in the last 24h, would that work?
Then you create an automation that is based on this segment and that send the follow-up email.
In your marketing journey, let’s say:
Could that be a scalable solution?
The automation is really confusing, cannot execute a simple automation. Here’s my flow:
I have 5 lists.
1st: Schedule email to all the list.
2nd: After 7 days, check who just opened, opened and clicked a specific link in the email and unopened.
3rd: To all these segments, send 3 different mails.
From the attached image why the flow is not working?
