Setting up followup emails to receivers of the first email

My use case is to send a followup email in the same email thread to all the contact that received Campaign #1. The automation feature only lets me setup automation on the triggers of open, clicked on link and unsubscribed. How do I do this?

Hi @Abhinav , thanks for posting on this community.

You can add a trigger based either on a segment or on a filter.

As conditions, you can choose « Contact received an email Â» and put more conditions if need be.

Thanks @ahudavert , this helps. Will try it out and get back in case of any issues.

Hey @ahudavert , this worked for me. I need another help for the same use case -

I am sending 10 different mail templates to different cohorts of users but the followup email template remains the same. Now, if I want the followup to be in the same email thread I’d have to create 10 followup automation in order to keep the subject line same. Is there any other way to ensure followup emails get sent in the same email thread without creating an automation for each template?

Hi @Abhinav , I’m happy if it worked for you!

I am afraid you can unfortunately not say to the automation engine something like: « send this email and keep the subject line of the previous email sent Â»

I guess the subject line depends on what you choose for each template

@ahudavert I am new to Brevo and have just sent my first campaign. I wanted to create a follow-up campaign targeting recipients who didn’t open the initial email. This is a basic feature I had access to with my previous system, and it significantly improved engagement and activity. Setting up such follow-ups used to take me just three clicks per campaign.

Is it true that this feature isn’t available in Brevo? If so, it would be a major drawback and might prompt me to switch systems again soon.

Research shows that sending at least three follow-up emails can increase response rates by up to 28%. Additionally, each successive follow-up significantly boosts engagement, with email sequences involving multiple attempts raising response rates by as much as 160%. A structured follow-up strategy is vital for improving email open and response rates. I hope Brevo considers this essential functionality to meet the needs of its users.

Hi @Lee1 , I confirm this is totally existing in Brevo.
You can have a look at this thread: Automation for email campaign not opened - #14 par ahudavert

You’ll see that you can create automations based on whether or not a contact has received and/or opened an email :+1:
